This translation is provided for information purposes only. In the event of any discrepancy, the Spanish version prevails.
In short: SmartBESO does not use analytics, advertising or tracking cookies. Only those strictly necessary for you to sign in, to remember the language you choose and to protect the forms. That is why you won’t see any consent banner.
1. What cookies are
A cookie is a small file that a website stores in your browser when you visit it. It is used to remember information between pages: for example, that you have already signed in. Other local storage technologies with an equivalent function are included under the same heading.
2. Why there is no cookie banner
Article 22.2 of Spanish Law 34/2002 (LSSI-CE) requires consent for cookies, except for those strictly necessary to provide a service expressly requested by the user. Those are exempt.
All the cookies SmartBESO uses fall within that exception: they keep your session, remember the language you have chosen and protect the forms against automated submissions. We have no cookie that requires your consent, so asking for it would be an empty formality. If we ever add analytics or any non-exempt cookie, we will publish the corresponding consent system before activating it and will update this page.

The session cookie is issued with the HttpOnly attribute (not accessible from
JavaScript) and SameSite=Lax, and always travels over an encrypted
connection.
4. What we do NOT use
To be clear, this site has no:
- Web analytics cookies (Google Analytics, Matomo or similar).
- Pixels or tags from social networks or advertising platforms.
- Behavioural advertising or profiling cookies.
- Third-party tag managers.
5. Other connections with third parties
Although they don’t set cookies, there are two external services your browser connects to when loading the site, and you should know about them:
- Google Fonts: serves the site’s typefaces. When requesting them, your browser shares your IP address with Google.
- Cloudflare Turnstile: loads the anti-bot system script on pages with a form.

6. How to manage cookies
You can block or delete cookies from your browser settings. Bear in mind that if you block this site’s cookies, you won’t be able to sign in or complete a study, because they are what support those functions.

We will update this page whenever the cookies we use change. The date of the last review appears at the top.
